Annual Conference Spring 2023 – Press Release

The North Carolina Geographical Society (NCGS) Annual Conference will be held on March 17, 2023 on the North Carolina Central University campus in beautiful Durham, North Carolina. The conference will begin at 9:30 am and will host a myriad of paper and poster presentations from researchers around the state. For people unable to attend in person, there will be a hybrid option as well. Registration deadline is February 24th. The conference will consist of paper and poster presentations, lunch, Keynote Speaker, and the Annual Business Meeting. Lunch will be included in the cost of registration. If you are unable to make the conference in-person, there will also be a digital hybrid option.

We are excited to work with NCCU and Dr. Tim Mulrooney. According to Tim, “the Department of Environmental, Earth and Geospatial Sciences at North Carolina Central University is excited to host the 2023 North Carolina Geographical Society annual symposium.  This is an excellent opportunity to highlight student work and interact with other geography professionals and students throughout the state with a focus on the state of North Carolina.  We welcome submissions by students, faculty, researchers and those interested in North Carolina.  We look forward to seeing you there!”

Abstracts are sought for paper and poster presentations for the meeting no later than March 4th. Details regarding abstract submission can be found on the abstract submission page.
